To Slip the Surly Bonds of Earth
This semi-abstract work was inspired by the poem High Flight by John Gillespie McGee Jr that begins:

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter silvered wings..."


The wings are 0.5 mm steel and the base patinated aluminium.
